Wild Placement

The Wild in Space Colonization is the Commander symbol, and it only appears on the second and fourth reels. It substitutes for everything except the Scatter. The reason the placement is limited to those two reels ties into the Free Spins feature, where Wilds apply Multipliers.

Free Spins Multipliers

When a Wild on reel 2 is part of a winning combination during Free Spins, a 3x Multiplier is applied. A win with a Wild on reel 4 applies a 5x Multiplier. If Wilds on both reels contribute to the same win, the Multiplier is 15x instead. There’s also a chance for random Wild symbols to be added to the grid during Free Spins.
