Dr. Mad feels like the sort of game that would grin at you right before pressing a button nobody should really be pressing. The lab is glowing, the beakers are bubbling, and the good doctor looks entirely too pleased with himself. It is silly in a fun way, which makes the mechanic land even better once things start getting a little out of hand.

The setup is nice and simple. You have 5 reels, 3 rows, and 10 paylines, with wins able to come from either direction on active lines. Then the Wilds show up and start causing trouble. If one lands on reel 2, 3, or 4, that whole reel turns Wild and stays put while the others spin again. If another one lands, the whole experiment keeps going. It gives the game a lovely little snowball effect, where one good moment can suddenly pull the whole board into something stronger.
