Online Blackjack Games You Can Play

While most of our blackjack games follow the traditional game format, there are two that offer fresh new ways to play 21.

Traditional Online Blackjack

Single Deck (new)

Single Deck (classic)
With Single Deck Blackjack, you’re playing with a one-deck shoe. You can bet between $1 and $300 per round.

Double Deck (new)

Double Deck (classic)
With Double Deck Blackjack, you’re playing with two decks in the shoe. The Dealer stands on soft 17; bets range from $1 to $250.

Blackjack (new)

Blackjack (classic)
Our standard blackjack game uses a six-deck shoe. You can play up to three hands per round, and bets range from $1 to $500.

European Blackjack

Play blackjack the European way. The Dealer doesn’t get a hole card until after you finish your turn, and doubling is restricted to hard totals of 9 to 11.

Non-Traditional Online Blackjack

Zappit Blackjack
With Zappit Blackjack you can blast away hands of 15, 16 and 17 and be dealt fresh new cards. But when the Dealer busts with a score of 22, it’s considered a push.

Perfect Pairs
Players who love side bets should consider playing Perfect Pairs. It’s six-deck blackjack with a side bet that pays 6:1 to 25:1 when you’re dealt a pair right off the bat. The closer to “perfect” your pair is, the more money you rake in.

Blackjack Strategy Online for Real Money

How to Win at Online Blackjack

While there’s no way to overcome the blackjack house edge in the long run, you can reduce the edge to a marginal amount and try to hit a win streak. To reduce the house edge, you must make the optimal move for every hand – according to the math. This is much easier than it sounds. Blackjack strategy charts are available online and in casino gift shops for this exact reason; just make sure you use one that’s appropriate for the game you’re playing. There are specific charts for specific rules, with the most important rule being whether the Dealer hits or stands on soft 17.

Online Blackjack Rules & Glossary

Blackjack rules vary game to game, but there are some universal rules that apply to all nine versions of our blackjack games. The basic premise of the game is the same regardless of which version you play: Get a score that’s higher than the Dealer without going over 21 points. Keep in mind, if the Dealer busts, you win as long as your score is under 22 points. The only exception is with Zappit Blackjack, which treats a 22-point Dealer bust as a push.

After you’re dealt two cards, you can improve your hand with the following actions:

Hit: Get another card

Stand: No more cards

Double: After getting your initial two-card hand, you can double your bet. You’ll receive just one more card

Surrender: Some versions of blackjack let you forfeit your initial two-card hand. Half your wager is returned.

Insurance: When the Dealer has an Ace, you can insure your hand for half your original wager. If the Dealer has Blackjack, the insurance bet pays 2:1.

The following rules are universal for all nine versions of blackjack available at Café Casino:

  • No re-splitting Aces.
  • One card is dealt to split Aces.
  • Blackjack pays 3:2
  • A split Ace with a 10-value card isn’t Blackjack.

For the other rules, we’ve created a chart that compares them in our blackjack games.

Basic Blackjack Strategy

Learning basic blackjack strategy involves memorizing the strategy chart that’s appropriate for the version of blackjack you’re playing. These charts depend on the number of decks being played, the Dealer’s prescribed action for soft 17 hands, and the ability to surrender, among a few other rules. Every game comes with three strategy charts: one for Pairs, soft hands and hard hands. To use the chart, find your score in the left column and compare it with the Dealer’s upcard at the top row. These charts are designed for our standard six-deck blackjack.

Online Blackjack Tips

Blackjack experts agree on the following four tips.

  • Never split 10s. You already have a score of 20 – don’t risk losing it.
  • There’s a good chance the Dealer will bust when his upcard is a Four, Five or Six. In these cases, you should stand with scores as low as 12.
  • Dealer upcards are categorized as “low” when they’re Six and under, and “high” when they’re Seven and above. For the most part, you’ll be hitting against high cards and standing against low cards.
  • Don’t play versions that offer 6:5 payouts for Blackjack. Versions that offer the standard 3:2 payouts are best.

Online Blackjack FAQ

  • How often are the cards shuffled?

When playing blackjack at Café Casino, the cards are shuffled after every round.

  • Is it better to have the Dealer hit or stand on soft 17?

It’s better for the player to have the Dealer stand on soft 17.

  • What’s the house edge in blackjack?

The house edge depends on the rules of the game, so it depends on which version you’re playing. When playing with optimal strategy, our standard six-deck blackjack has a house edge of 0.535%. Single Deck Blackjack has a house edge of 0.037%. Double Deck Blackjack has a house edge of 0.223%.
